Membership Eligibility
Category 1 – Manufacturing Member
a) Firms, corporations or divisions of corporations that manufacture consumer oriented hardware, housewares, and related seasonal, decorative and DIY products in Canada, or process foreign products in Canada by altering or adding value to said products such as packaging and labelling.
b) Canadian firms which are subsidiaries or divisions of foreign corporations and whose sole function is to represent that parent company in Canada, with respect to marketing and/or distributing products manufactured by said company.
Category 2 – Agency Member
Firms, corporations or divisions of corporations such as agencies or importers who do not qualify under the criteria of manufacturers, and derive a significant portion of their income from the sale of home-related products in Canada.
Voting Rights
Manufacturing and Agency members (serving on the Board) are entitled to one vote per member on all occasions where votes of members of the Association are called for, including meetings of the Association, election of the Directors and amendment of the bylaws. Agency members (not serving on the Board) and Affiliate members have no voting rights in the Association.
